Zahir

Zahir Hirji (RN MHSc CIC), the visionary CEO and Founder of IZP Consulting Inc., has built a career around his passion for helping others succeed through the power of knowledge and experience. With over 20 years of expertise in infection prevention and control (IPAC), Zahir's journey began as a Registered Nurse, further solidified by earning a Master’s degree in Community Health and Epidemiology. Since becoming certified in Infection Control in 2004, he has been at the forefront of advancing infection control practices in healthcare settings across Canada.

Throughout his career, Zahir has taken on leadership roles that demonstrate his commitment to the field, serving as the Past President of both IPAC Greater Toronto Area and IPAC Canada. His deep understanding of infection control, combined with his drive to mentor and empower others, positions him as a trusted expert in the industry. Zahir’s work with IZP Consulting continues his mission to support healthcare facilities in building stronger, more resilient infection prevention programs, contributing to the well-being of communities at large.

SANDRA

Sandra Callery (RN MHSc CIC LTC-CIP) has worked in the field of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), and in leadership roles, for many years . Her other work experiences include public health, clinical research and occupational health and safety. She worked in a variety of health care settings, and most recently with the Ontario Agency of Health Protection and Promotion (Public Health Ontario).

Sandra is a recent past president of The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). She was also a previous National President of IPAC Canada and their 2023 Honourary Member. She is a recipient of the Moira Walker Memorial Award for International Service. Sandra is on the editorial board for the Canadian Journal of Infection Control (CJIC). Other previous IPAC CANADA appointments include the National Pandemic Influenza Planning committee, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, and the International Infection Control Council. Sandra was an Assistant Clinical Professor and lecturer at McMaster University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and is currently a lecturer for IPAC CANADA endorsed courses at Centennial College and Queen’s University.
